I've been playing a little bit the last couple of weekends, and I've done ok in a couple of Full Tilt MTTs, but both times I've gone out just short of the final table. My career track record on Full Tilt in MTTs with more than 180 players is laughably bad, but I think I'm close to breaking through. Full Tilt made a great change a couple months ago and made the blind levels longer later in the tournament, so it's nice to have a little more play late. So now all I need to do is not spew off a top 4 stack on a move with 11 left like I did with 11 left last night.
I've also been watching the new season of High Stakes Poker, and it's been very entertaining so far. The first four episodes have been a showcase for Tom Dwan, better known on the internet as durrr. Despite his rather metro persona, Dwan has shown more aggression and heart than anyone else at the table. While most of the table seems to playing fit or fold poker, Dwan has been highly aggressive and is always trying to find a way to win every pot he's in. His most notable play was an incredible bluff against Barry Greenstein and Peter Eastgate, which I may analyze in a later post. GSN has been generous enough to upload all of the episodes onto Youtube, so check them out if you want to see some world class poker.
Thanks for reading,
George
