Sunday Heads Up

As some of you may know, Full Tilt has now added heads up and full table shootout tournaments. I was really happy to hear this because I love shootout tournaments, especially heads up shootouts. So I figured I would get a weekly heads up tournament going:


For those who don't know how a tournament like this works, its a lot like the NCAA tournament bracket. Each player is randomly assigned a first round opponent. Those two play a heads up match. The winner moves on to the next round, the loser is eliminated. The tournament keeps going until there is only one player remaining.

Whats great about heads up shootouts is that unlike full table tournaments, there is always a lot of play at the end of the tournament when the winner is determined. Often times in regular MTTs the blinds are out of control when play gets to 3 or 4 handed and a good players edge is somewhat nullified. But in a heads up shootout, the blinds reset for each subsequent round, so there is a lot of play at every stage.

The first tournament wont be until a week from Sunday on May 18th. I decided not to start it this Sunday because its Mothers Day and I'm sure people will have conflicts, plus I wanted to give myself some time to promote this and hopefully get the maximum 64 players to sign up. The goal is to make this tournament as popular as the other well established bloggaments. So some advertising by my fellow bloggers would be much appreciated.
